Saturday Morning Adventures

Located in the London Borough of Croydon is Riddlesdown parkrun (riddle is thought to be taken from Middle English for ‘cleared woodland’) a largely flat cross-country route over grass, gravel and the stony paths of the bridleway.

Can you feel my fear 😀 this off-road grassy course on a rainy day and for some unfathomable reason I was wearing shorts 😀

The run director reminded us to stay away from the long grass where Skylarks nestle, the rain miraculously stopped and we were off!

My left calf was feeling restless so I started at the back to not get caught up in some high adrenaline start, with the plan to ease into an easy pace whilst enjoying the wonderful views. Sadly my calf kept twinging and from 3k the rain returned 🙁

However it was AMAZING AMAZING to see our friend Lucy and her kids. They cheered us in and then whisked us away in their heated seats 4 wheeler for brunch featuring homemade guacamole and blackberry and raspberry crumble, all picked yesterday 😊

Touring is such a great way to see friends with this being a day date we all needed and felt inspired from #Saturdaybliss

Next week, Oakhill parkrun, the penultimate event of the LonDone challenge!
